Patience is a virtue – but not one all dogs are blessed with!
This is a step-by-step guide to achieving a dog who will wait their turn in class, calmly and quietly. Saving their energy for their performance rather than using it all up getting over-excited watching everyone else!
1. Bed/ Crate
First things first, teaching an independent Bed or Crate cue.
2. Settle
Then we want to work on building a dog who is relaxed and settled.
3. Raising The Bar
Once we’ve created great understanding in our dogs, we then want to increase the level of distraction they can cope with whilst remaining calm.
