I’ve tried many harnesses, and seen many different versions on the dogs that I teach. Not all harnesses are created equal!
Many on the market are uncomfortable for the dogs and they dislike having them put on or wearing them. Which makes going out for a walk a misery rather than a joy 🙁
It doesn’t have to be like that. A comfortable harness is like a comfortable piece of underwear – you shouldn’t be aware that you’re wearing it. When you find the right one, you’ll find your dog doesn’t mind wearing it which makes a BIG difference to daily life.
Plus using a harness which has 2 points of contact – one on the chest and one on the back – can create great loose lead walking too. More on that in another blog post.
For now, here’s my top 3 for you to choose from:
If you’re lucky enough to live close to Bristol, then may I recommend you pop into the Mutty Professor in Bedminster for a harness fitting? Excellent range and very knowledgable, dog-friendly staff 🙂
